Terms & Conditions

  • I confirm my data is backed up and I understand the risks of hard disk failure can lead to loss of data and under no circumstances is Ross-IT liable for any data loss whatsoever.
  • I understand that the time it takes to diagnose and/or repair my device is unpredictable and any times quoted are based on an estimate of the work involved and is not a guarantee of how long it can / will take.
  • If you cancel your repair after we have started, you will be liable for payment of any parts ordered and a calculation of the cost of labour to the maximum of the agreed quote. We will not release any item back to you until payment in full is received.
  • I understand that although everything possible is done to ensure my device is not damaged during diagnosis / repair, some non-serviceable and sealed devices (such as iMacs / Tablets etc) are impossible to dismantle for diagnosis or repair without physically damaging the device to gain entry into it and the worse case cost will be included in the quote to repair your device.
  • We do not have specific knowledge of your computer and its configuration. Whilst we use our best efforts to minimise disruption to your system, we cannot be held responsible for any unforeseen consequences of our services including any loss or corruption of data, information or records; any loss of goodwill, or any loss of business or contracts; any failure by you to follow our reasonable advice, recommendations or instructions; any losses you may suffer arising from your use (or failure to use) any anti-virus and internet security software and any loss that is not reasonably foreseeable.
  • I understand I will not receive my repaired device until payment is received in full.
  • I understand my email may be used for an annual reminder where appropriate.
  • If I leave my device for more than 60 days without prior arrangement, it is considered abandoned and my device will be recycled, resold to recover costs or disposed off.
  • I understand if my device’s operating system is reloaded, programs such as Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Anti-Virus Software etc may not be present on receipt of my repaired device and I understand I will need to provide the original installation media if Ross-IT are to re-install my software.

Purchases

Warranties for purchased items such as laptops and or PCs/Gaming PCs are stated on the invoice. Generally, refurbished laptops & PCs come with a 3-month hardware warranty. New laptops or PCs come with a 1-year hardware warranty unless otherwise stated on the invoice. If your device is opened or altered in anyway by a third party, especially in the case of removing warranty stickers, this will void your warranty with us.

Returns

Faulty Damaged or Incorrect items

If your item arrives faulty, damaged, or not as described, you are entitled to a full refund, repair or replacement under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

  • Faults must be reported within 30 days of delivery to qualify for a full refund.

  • After 30 days but within 6 months, you’re entitled to a repair or replacement.

  • After 6 months, you may need to prove the fault was present when delivered.

Non-returnable Items

We cannot accept returns for the following unless they are faulty:

  • Custom-built or personalised PCs

  • Software or digital downloads once unsealed or activated

  • Items returned without original packaging or missing components

  • Items damaged due to misuse or accidental damage

Change of mind

If a customer buys something online, by phone, or through mail order, they generally have the following rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013:

  • 14-day cooling-off period: Starting the day after delivery, you can notify that you wish to cancel—for any reason, no questions asked

  • Additional 14 days to return the item: Once cancellation is communicated, you have another 14 days to send the item back

  • Refund timing and costs:

    • We will refund the cost of the product and standard delivery within 14 days of receiving the returned goods or proof they were returned.

    • If you chose a more expensive delivery option, we’re only required to refund the lowest standard delivery cost.

    • We may deduct any depreciation in value if the item was handled beyond what’s needed to check it.

  • Exceptions: No cooling-off rights apply to:

    • Custom-made or personalised items

    • Sealed software, DVDs, or games once unsealed

    • Perishable goods

    • Other similarly exempt items

Refund Timeframes

Once we receive and inspect your return:

  • Refunds are typically processed within 14 days.

  • Refunds will be made using the original payment method.
